Cleanliness is a necessity for all of us but what is the best soap for us to use. I’ve heard from many people around that Antibacterial soap is not all it’s cracked up to be. I don’t know exactly what to believe but some of their arguments make me raise questions about it’s usefulness.
With all of the super flus and ever growing numbers of new viruses showing up one must ask his/herself what is the best option when it comes to buying our soap. Now we must note that regular run of the mill hand soap is a proven to clean and kill germs so why even bother buying Antibacterial soaps. Well, some germs are simply stronger I suppose so many people find it necessary to buy these germ killing soaps to guarantee that they are truly clean.
I have used these soaps before and find they do a good job but I’m not really a Antibacterial soap junkie or anything. I use whatever has a decent scent and tends to clean dirt and grime well enough. On the other hand some people say that Antibacterial soaps are terrible and they actually cause viruses to mutate into these super flus like SARS, West Nile, Swine flu, etc.. Now I’m no expert but I seem to understand that germs and microbes mutate to adapt and survive so I get what these people are saying but I don’t necessarily believe that Antibacterial soaps are the cause. Although they could possibly be part of the problem.
So, I don’t know which is really better but it is definitely an interesting theory that we should think about. I don’t think we should panic thinking this is a life threatening problem though. Even hand sanitizers fall into this category but they are a good way to eliminate germs when we are not near a sink or shower. Maybe the best way to deal with it is to use ordinary soap when possible and hand sanitizer when we travel.
