No, we don’t really have atomic light bulbs but British scientists seem to be pretending we do. No but seriously according to new studies, British health officials are now warning that the compact fluorescent lights now being sold to phase out the aging incandescent light bulbs emit radiation. Well THAT’S JUST GREAT!
This has caused Health Canada to begin it’s own study now as well. (might as well, everyone else is!). There are a couple of reasons for the study aside from the fallout capabilities of a light bulb. People say that they get headaches, migranes and nausea from being around compact fluorescent lights. People with epilepsy are even reporting seizures. Another problem is the effect on your skin caused by the UV rays emitting from the light. Some people with skin conditions could even be at a greater risk. There is definatley something going on here. Studies will continue however but for now the best way to avoid these problems is to stay at least 30 centimeters away from these lights or just to continue using incandescent bulbs for now. As a consumer I wonder if we’ll ever get SAFE and TESTED products to use. Well I say we just use sunscreen around the house for now. About spf 5000 should do it!
