Silly isn’t it? Well not quite as silly as people who have the means to dry clothes on a clothes line on a nice day but rather use their dryer instead.
So many people these days decide to dry their clothes indoors in a dryer and pay money then simply go outside, hang them on the line and let mother nature do the work. I understand it’s a little more work than just tossing them into a machine and hitting the start button but come on! If it’s a nice day out and you have a yard to throw up a clothes line, why not?
Clothes dryers are a convenient way to dry clothes but use a large amount of power. Considering that you can dry for free on a clothes line would you still rather use a dryer? Another plus to line drying is that you’re saving wear and tear on your dryer prolonging it’s lifespan further increasing your savings. Getting outside on a nice sunny day to load or unload the line isn’t so bad either. It’s a good reason to get outdoors and enjoy the day.
Now you may be saying “what about us who live in condos or apartments who don’t have access to laundry lines”. Well you are not out of luck. You can also buy indoor laundry stands to dry with or if you have a deck or balcony you can take them outside temporarily and then back in after the clothes are dry. You can save a fair amount on your hydro bill each month and possibly put it towards air conditioning if necessary. Hope you like the picture!
